Looks like this was filmed under fireglow red light...
To rodents, such red light is equivalent to near pitch darkness so you get to see "natural" nighttime behaviour...
Super little furry animals, funny fish, clumsy frogs etc etc etc ...

"My Malawi Chichlids"
These are some of the fish I'd like when I get the wherewithal and means to set up a sizeable tank. These like hard water (like London (dechlorinated) tapwater) and few if any plants ...

Roborovski Hamsters
These are the smallest, fastest and most active hamsters in the world.
They call them Robbies in Britain and Robos in America.
Have a quick peep:

Cardinal Tetras
These are my favourite tropical fish of all time. Look at the intense blue/red colour!
Not to be confused with neon tetras, which are slightly less colourful (they have a grey bit underneath) and slightly smaller

Dust Bath Grey Chinchilla White Poodle
I don't know why this is funny but it sort of is ...
Yeah, chinchillas do look like Martian rabbits. And all tired and weary round the eyes. Did you know they need special volcanic chinchilla dust to bath in? Otherwise their fur goes horrible. Siberian dwarf hamsters need dust-baths too: but the idiot book I used as a guide never explained this. So I thought they were rolling about in the sawdust because they had fleas ...! Also, btw, once I swopped sawdust for catlitter their coats came into much better condition.

Mother Chinchilla with Babies
I always thought chinchillas looked a little like rabbits from Mars ...
Albino African Clawed Frogs
These are much bigger than the dwarf frog I had, & much stronger swimmers.
Notice they are alone in the tank. You can keep fish with them, but they need to be bigger fish (like pleccos) ~ else the fish get eaten!

Backflipping Winter White Hamster
This is one of those entertaining clips of the World's Funniest Animals TV show ilk:
Have a look!
This one also comes from Japan. He says: "ハムスター中国雑技団!"
Watch the camera angle subtly change: this is not on a loop!
Sorry about the poor video ...

Friendly Japanese Chinese Hamster
チャイニーズ・ハムスター Chinese Hamster
My Chinese Mouse is the most laid-back rodent I've ever had. And he is well shy. for one thing I've yet to witness him eat anything. But he does frequently drink water out of his hamster paddling pool bowl. Which he does not swim in. He has to have a bowl as the bottle I bought him has a manufacturing defect and constantly leaks water ...

Upside Down Snacking Campbells Hamster On Piano Keys
This clip is a must-see. An absolute cracker!
Campbells hammies are just like winter whites except they come in a vaster range of colour variations. Unfortunately they are not so nice-tempered as the peaceful winter whites and can be inclined to nip you. Which I found highly annoying.

Winter White Siberian Dwarf Hamsters Upside Down Grooming
I used to have one of these and a Campbells that lived together. They are beautiful creatures. Note how fluffy their fur is - they even have furry soles to their feet for the cold Siberian ground. They do not hibernate in winter, so their fur goes white to camouflage with the snow. Winter white hamsters have the softest fur I've ever encountered on any pet of any kind. It is wonderfully luxurious and a good job that the fur trade never discovered them ...
Borneo Suckers Mating
I used to have one of these fish. They are sold as coldwater species but can live in temperatures up to 75F 22C.
Mine wasn't nearly as brightly coloured as these. She was dark green ~ variable to light green (yes she was a chamaeleon fish!) depending on mood. Also she was way flatter than these Borneos. They have a sucker-type underside (hence the name) and look like a snail when they sit on the glass in front of you. My one, Nubia, used to sleep upside down stuck to a bit of slate. The only way you could catch her was by picking up that slate. As she was the last one left in the petshop's totally empty plantless, furniture-free tank and it took them nearly half an hour to catch her. She was flying around like a piece of rapidly animated ribbon. Never in my life have I seen a fish move so fast.

Dwarf African Aquatic Frog
I used to have one of these, except he was tiny - about ten times smaller than this one. Today I went into the fish shop and asked and aparently mine was like this: just a baby. See what an agile swimmer he is ... not!
They are fully aquatic frogs by the way and never need to come out of the water (in fact if they do hop out, so I'm told, they're really difficult to get back so you need a well covered tank). They can live peacably with little tropical fish (Siamese fighter size) and need no special tank furniture or anything. Just dried tubifex worms as food. Which they love ...

Freshwater Shrimp
You can buy these by the bagful as fresh goldfish food. The goldfish go nuts for them. But I kept a few and put them in with my diddy tropical fish (which were too small to eat them) and they amazingly lived peacefully on:
